A couple of days ago there were some pictures I needed to shot. I was tired of waiting out the rain so I grabbed my camera and took off to two nearby lakes hoping for the best. I was pleasantly surprised to get some decent shots and actually had fun running around in the rain. I was gone a lot longer than expected, remembered that I did indeed have a rain jacket at home, more than ready for a hot shower when I got home, and learned that you have to just get out there and shot no matter what. Just like life not everyday is sunshine and rainbows sometimes you just have to make the most of what you've got.
Thank goodness is October! We are in the middle of football season, the air has a finally cooled off, I can wear my boots and fuzzy socks again, the leaves are changin', and its just all around a great time of year. After all as the saying goes "October is to photographers what April is to accountants."
Things have been kinda turned upside down at the cottage with me running on very little sleep, schedules never getting finalized until the last minute, and having a very sick daughter on my hands. It will be a welcome relief to have everything running smoothly again.
Also it has been cold, rainy, and gray here for several days. I can not wait for the sun to come back out, grab a camera (or 3) and go shot the fall leaves as they change, or to be bundled up in a coat, scarf, and blanket at the football games sipping hot chocolate. October has always been an eventful month for me and I really, really, really like it a lot.
So make sure to check in on the cottage this month to read about a lot of my favorites, maybe see some of the Halloween costumes I wore as a kid, a glimpse of some of my favorite childhood spots, and perhaps a few camera reviews and comparisons thrown in.
And if my selfies above aren't enough to scare you and put you in the Halloween spirit I don't know what will.
