I really have no idea what to do with myself when I'm alone. I don't know if it's because I have so many interests I don't know which one to turn to, or because I truly don't know myself. It shouldn't be hard to come up with a list of things you like to do, yet I'm been wracking my brain forever. So here's a brief list of some of the things I enjoy. I look forward to reading everyone else's post and hopefully discovering some new ideas.
Read-now I love the idea of reading, going to bookstores and thrift stores, and scouring Amazon but do I sit down with a book and read? Rarely...A book has to really get my attention and keep it for me to devour it in a short period of time. I am notorious for starting a book getting about halfway through and then never going back to it. Plus I'm one of those people who needs complete silence in order to concentrate on what I'm doing so when that gets disrupted by a dog barking at nothing reading becomes a lost cause for me. However, when the mood strikes I'm prepared with boxes of books.
YouTube-if I devoted as much time to everything else as I do to watching YouTube videos on every possible topic that remotely interests me I might have gotten a whole lotta stuff done over the years. Like maybe making my own videos...or getting sleep...or reading...But dang it YouTube is a bottomless pit of photography tips, vlogs, makeup tutorials, book reviews, and anything and everything else you can imagine.
Long car rides-I LOVE getting in the car and taking off, problem is a rarely come up with anywhere new to go. I can blast the radio and listen to whatever I want, or nothing at all. I can pack my cameras and hope to find something good to take pics of. I can drive to a park, get out, just sit and watch what's going on around me, and usually a drive thru is involved.
Get takeout-I do this way too much, but sometimes ya just gotta. Especially when I'm by myself and can get what I want without the round and round of who wants what. I can eat like a pig in privacy and no one has to be subject to that vulgarity.
Long bath or shower, shave my legs, get into a bed with clean sheets- no other explanation need.
Go for a hike-in the spring and fall I love to get outside and go for a hike. I'm not a summertime person because I cannot handle the heat. One of the best hikes I had this past spring was when I took along my camera, a book, and some munchies. I stopped and sat on a huge moss covered rock, read, and listened to the woods and nothing else. It was great!
Surfing the internet-yep I can make a day of looking through Pinterest, Tumblr, YouTube (as mentioned before), and anything else I can think of to look up.
Silence-I love to hear absolutely nothing. I can sit in this house all dang day without music, TV, anything and enjoy every second. I was never the person who had the TV and radio on while doing homework.
So here are a few of the things I like to do when I'm alone. Again I look forward to reading everyone else's posts for inspiration.
